Red (209) is most commonly found as an opaque (183) glass. The shape, rounded with flat sides (124) is the most common shape. The size is nearly the average, about 1 cm (164). The very short nature of the bead (shorter than half its diameter) (151) is less common. The decoration applied is a single line around the bead (monchrome line[311], curved zig zags [541]). Callmer notes two similar beads as type B261 although the decoration is white and much more curved. One bead was dated between 860 and 885 AD, while the other was dated after 980.
