The arrangement was based on the archaeology from L'Anse aux Meadows. The location of the quench barrel, anvil stone, and smelter inside the dug out space are roughly the same. The position of the large bellows was determined by its size and the space required for operators. Note the development of a distinctive debris pattern. Previous
